Summer may feel like it’s officially over but with everyone refreshed, revived, and the start of a new school year, invigorated to hit the ground running in Autumn. This has certainly been the case for our Members as this edition of Grapevine shows, with so many great articles celebrating local business success stories and offering insights in evolving landscape across Essex.
The Chambers team have also felt this renewed energy with a packed September of fantastic engagement, events, and training. Before you delve into our great array of Member articles, let’s take a look at what Essex Chambers have been up to this month.
Rachael Hogg – Celebrating 22nd Anniversary at the Chambers
Congratulations to our Accounts & Administration Manager, Rachael Hogg, who recently celebrated an amazing 22nd years with the Chambers!
Rachael is the backbone of our Accounts Department overseeing all transactions, processing membership accounts and event bookings. For over 20 years she has been a reliable, friendly, and fabulous member of the Essex Chambers team. Always on hand to help colleagues and customers with a cheeky joke and infectious giggle, we don’t know where we’d be without her.
22 years as part of the Essex Chambers family is a fantastic achievement and show of dedication to supporting our local business community.
Here’s to many more years to Rach continuing her Chambers career.
Electrifying Networking with EINTAC
We recently welcomed attendees to The Plaza, Enterprise & Innovation Centre in Braintree for a fantastic afternoon of engaging conversations and informative presentations with our Members EINTAC.
A number of great Essex businesses gathered to connect and hear from EINTAC about the risks, hazards and some misconceptions around Electric and Hybrid vehicles. The timing of this event was particularly pertinent as it was also World EV Day in the same week.
EINTAC are experts in safe-working on electric vehicles. A relatively young business formed in 2019, attendees heard from Managing Director, Tim Hughes, on the history of the company. Tim explained how the company was formed after identifying a gap in the market on the need for specific equipment and training needed to work on electric and hybrid vehicles.
We were also joined by EINTAC’s Technical Director, Ian McDonnell, who gave an overview of the niche risks that these vehicles present whilst also myth busting certain exaggerated perceptions of the dangers affiliated to electric cars.
Thank you to everyone who attended the networking event. We hope you enjoyed hearing about the world of electric and hybrid vehicles whilst growing your connections over a delicious lunch.
Nurturing Knowledge in Essex
We’ve facilitated some fantastic workshops and webinars this month, spreading awareness and expanding our attendees on areas that can help their business to grow.
There was a full house at our Improving your LinkedIn Skills workshop with our course presenters and social media partners SRX Consultancy. Attendees learnt how to best utilise the platform to promote themselves and their businesses, securing connections and expanding their networks and online profiles. Feedback from the course has been great with one attendee saying:
“I found the workshop really beneficial and both trainers answered all the questions asked throughout thoroughly with examples.”
We have a whole programme of workshops dedicated to helping you to navigate the complex world of social media. The next course is our Improving your Facebook Skills Workshop, on Thursday 28 November. You can find all other course titles and information via our website.
Also, this month we were joined by Members First Intervention for our Fire Safety Overview webinar. The session focussed on changes to regulations that businesses need to be aware of because of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, as well as clarifying where responsibility lies should the worse happen.
At Essex Chambers we are dedicated to spreading awareness to our Members on issues and topics that could affect how they operate. As an additional benefit, all of our webinars are now FREE to our Members to attend. You can now expand your knowledge with industry experts in our convenient hour long sessions for no charge.
