Rickard Luckin has advised on the sale of EDocuments to Glider Technology, portfolio company of Cow Corner.
Founded in 2001, Chelmsford-based EDocuments provides digital information management for the construction industry and building owners. The company revolutionised the production of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals. Their platform now boasts over 50,000 users and their commitment to transparency and data quality, dubbed “process driven data assurance,” has been a cornerstone of the company’s success.
Glider’s mission is to revolutionise how asset information is managed throughout design, construction and operation of a built asset. The acquisition of EDocuments will allow Glider to continue to expand in this area and deliver this mission.
The Rickard Luckin team was led by Mark Brooks (Corporate Finance) and was assisted by the Corporate Tax and Private Client Teams.
The Corporate Finance Team project managed the sale process for the shareholders, helping to negotiate and execute an excellent deal for the sellers, whilst supporting the due diligence phase through to completion. Talking about the sale, Ella Young, Corporate Finance Executive at Rickard Luckin said: “Our goal is to add value at any stage of a transaction. We focused on transparency, thorough due diligence, and clear communication, ensuring a successful outcome for both buyer and seller. It was a pleasure working with the team at EDocuments, who worked equally hard to consistently provide quality information that we could analyse and present to the buyer, enabling an efficient process through to completion."
Jamie DupĂ©e, Shareholder of EDocuments, said: “I was very happy with RL. It is difficult to grasp on day one what may be required during the M&A process, throwing up many unknowns along the way. Using RL made the sale process far less stressful, and more efficient. Having operations and profits in multiple countries added to the complexity. Having RL’s judgement on how to value this and manage the risks was really helpful.”
Brighton-based Cow Corner is a small, privately owned investment business, founded by a group of like-minded friends in 2018. The company normally invest between £20-50 million per investment. Rob Griffiths, Investor at Cow Corner, stated: "Rickard Luckin has been great from start to finish. They have always been at the end of the phone. The best compliment I can give is that they have made my life as the buyer easier!"
Tees Law provided legal assistance on the sale.
