Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) is thrilled to announce that this year’s Strictly Air Ambulance fundraiser was a resounding success, raising more than £40,000 to support the charity’s life-saving mission. The glamorous event, sponsored by Rig Equipment Ltd and Anderson Development Group, took place on Saturday, 15th March 2025, at the Brentwood Centre, Essex, captivating an audience of supporters with a night of spectacular dance, entertainment, and generosity.
Stealing the spotlight and taking home the coveted Glitterball Trophy were Lou Sayer and Bruce Lait, who wowed both the audience and the esteemed judging panel with their dazzling performances of the Tango and Paso Doble.
The thirteenth annual Strictly Air Ambulance saw eight incredible contestants from Essex and Hertfordshire take to the dancefloor, each paired with a professional dance partner to showcase their ballroom and Latin routines. Their hard work and dedication shone through, helping to raise vital funds for EHAAT’s pre-hospital emergency medical service.
The evening was hosted by EHAAT’s Celebrity Ambassador, Lisa Snowdon, alongside ITV presenter David Whiteley, who kept the energy high, and the audience engaged throughout the night. An expert panel of judges, including former Strictly Come Dancing professionals Ian Waite and Erin Boag, renowned Latin dancers Ben Milan-Vega and Morgan Hemphill, and head judge Phil Meacham from Chelmsford Dance Centre, provided insightful feedback and helped crown the evening’s champions.
Reflecting on the event, Ian Waite shared: “I’m absolutely delighted to have been part of such a fantastic evening. The standard of dancing was incredible, and the support for EHAAT was truly inspiring. It’s always an honour to contribute to such a worthy cause.”
His fellow judge and dance partner on the night, Erin Boag, added: “The atmosphere was electric! Everyone brought so much passion and energy to the dancefloor. Knowing that it’s all in aid of Essex & Herts Air Ambulance makes it even more special.”
In addition to the breathtaking dance performances, guests enjoyed a thrilling auction and raffle, sponsored by London Southend Airport, which played a significant role in boosting the fundraising total.
The event concluded with an exclusive After-Show Party, sponsored by G+G Gallo, where attendees danced the night away while celebrating the evening’s success.
Emma Barker, Head of Income Generation at EHAAT, expressed her gratitude: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the support and generosity shown at this year’s Strictly Air Ambulance. Every single participant, sponsor, and guest has played a part in helping us raise vital funds to keep our helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding to emergencies.”
EHAAT extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the event’s success, including the contestants, professional dancers, judges, sponsors, and attendees.
