Celebrating Diversity Through Food: Bring-and-Share Food Day

On Tuesday 23rd April, Thurrock Adult Community College (TACC) held its first Bring-and-Share Food Day event at their brand-new venue, the Old Courthouse in Grays, where students and staff were invited to showcase a traditional dish from their respective cultures.

Participants brought dishes that held special significance to their cultural heritage, each one telling a story of family recipes passed down through generations and cherished memories of home-cooked meals from their home countries.

The event was a great turnout, tables were filled with an array of dishes from around the world, representing countries near and far. From savory samosas to semolina pudding, there was something to tempt every palate.

The Bring and Share Food Day was more than just a feast for the senses, it was a celebration of diversity, inclusion, and understanding, through a love of food.

TACC is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where all are celebrated and valued. The day served as a reminder that while we may come from different backgrounds, we are all part of the same community.
