Thurrock's Next Top Boss is an annual competition that gives students the opportunity to work with local employers on real business challenges.
This year, at Trunk Logistics we had the privilege of partnering with Thurrock Council to be the chosen business. We tasked students from Grays Convent High School, Hathaway Academy, Olive AP Academy Thurrock, Ortu Hassenbrook, St Clere’s School and Orsett Heath Academy to create a social media campaign that is creative and relevant to our brand.
All of us at Trunk Logistics were blown away by the uniqueness and personality in each and every submission. Each team brought something different to the competition that we would be proud to share on our social media accounts.
On Wednesday 20th March, the awards ceremony was held in Aveley Football Club, hosted by Councillor Susan Little, the Mayor of Thurrock. Ultimately, Team Tusk Force from St Clere’s School came out on top, with their engaging content and creative theme song and amazing competition idea. Olive M&M’s from Olive Academy came close as runners up, for their funny and entertaining submissions.
Our Managing Director, Joanna Sedley-Burke, had this to say: “We have thoroughly enjoyed being the programme partner for this year’s edition of Thurrock’s Next Top Boss. We set students a real challenge that many businesses face, including our own, how do we promote our brand on digital platforms”
“We have been really impressed with the creativity students have shown and would like to say well done to all of the groups that took part”
“Team ‘Tusk Force’ from St Clere’s provided us with an amazing submission using different mediums, the social media posts demonstrated excellent research, uniqueness and creativity and an amazing competition idea.”
All students who participated will be able to reference this on their CV’s for future job applications. The winning team members have been invited to come to our office’s for work experience in a role of their choice.
Trunk Logistics were so proud to have been a part of such an amazing opportunity to engage with schools in the community to help shape the future and careers of young people in Thurrock.
Keep an eye on our social media to see the submissions!
