PC Mike Lee presented to 500 attendees at the event about our priorities, and how these fit into the Business Crime Strategy. As well as how we will help prevent and protect the organisations of Essex in the future.
Peter Fisher NBCS General Manager said “I must take this opportunity to thank the Business Crime Team for the excellent presentation at our conference. Essex Police are clearly doing to great work in this space and I would be keen to build an even closer relationship on behalf of the wider NBCS and its retail community"
Tackling Theft of Business Vehicles
The Business Crime Team have recently started working with local wholesalers to prevent thefts from motor vehicles that belong to businesses.
Through analysing crime data, PC Foote and PC Plakhtienko discovered a pattern of theft of high-priced items that had gone missing from vehicles, after being left unlocked.
PC Foote and PC Plakhtienko have since started to work with wholesalers to educate customers around reducing the opportunities to criminals in the area. They continue to enhance their abilities to pursue these offenders.
If you are buying high value goods, please do not leave them unattended and ensure you lock your vehicles as you do not know who is watching.
