The Holiday Inn Southend and 1935 Rooftop Restaurant situated at London Southend Airport are delighted to announce their four stars and AA Rosette award for the fifth year in a row. Situated just a short walk from Southend Airport train station and with ample on-site car parking, the 129-bedroom four-star hotel boasts a fully soundproof rooftop bar & restaurant.
The hotel was visited by an anonymous AA inspector last month and the team recently found out about the AA accreditation. Rohit Singh, General Manager of Holiday Inn Southend was thrilled to share the news with his team “These past eighteen months have been very challenging for our industry. The team at Holiday Inn Southend have pulled together and worked so hard to ensure we continued to offer an excellent home away from home for many key workers during the pandemic. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that despite all the recent restrictions, we have retained our prestigious AA Rosette and four-star hotel award again this year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the hotel team who have worked so hard to ensure the experience and service we offer is excellent for our customers.”
Holiday Inn Southend Sales Manager, Louise Merrell adds “We are gearing up to celebrate our nine years since opening our hotel at London Southend Airport and what better way to celebrate than with the announcement of our coveted Rosette status for our food and our four-star award for our hotel. Things are really going from strength to strength since restrictions were lifted and our team are excited to continue doing what we do best, providing true hospitality to our guests”.
An AA Rosette Award and four-star rating is an accreditation for hospitality excellence, awarded by AA inspectors. Inspectors reward Rosettes and stars to those that achieve standards that stand out in the industry. A key factor for the AA Rosette award is serving food prepared with care, understanding and skill and the stars are awarded based on six critical areas; cleanliness, hospitality, service, bedrooms, bathrooms and food.
The 1935 Rooftop Restaurant offers traditional British dishes cooked to perfection with a modern twist, plus an exclusive private dining room and opens for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. Guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the airport and surrounding area whilst enjoying meals prepared with skill and dedication.
