Palmers Solicitors bolsters licensing and regulatory work with appointment of specialist solicitor
Palmers Solicitors, which has offices in Basildon, Rayleigh, Thurrock and South Woodham Ferrers, has appointed Jacqui McGuirk as a Solicitor in its Commercial Litigation team, based at the firm’s Basildon office.
Jacqui has particular expertise in licensing and regulatory work, such as obtaining premises licences, including in circumstances where objections have been raised, and acting on appeals to the Traffic Commissioner for commercial vehicle licences.
Prior to joining Palmers Solicitors, Jacqui trained at a multi-office high-street firm in Surrey, spending three years there until qualification, when she moved to another Essex-based law firm, where she spent two years working in Civil Litigation.
Jacqui said: “I am excited to be able to bring my licensing and regulatory expertise to Palmers Solicitors and having the opportunity to develop the firm’s practice in these areas. Palmers has an enviable reputation across the region for the quality of its legal advice and client care and so it is wonderful to be joining the firm.”
Luke Morgan, a Partner and Head of the Commercial Litigation team at Palmers Solicitors, added: “We are pleased to be able to welcome Jacqui to the team. I know our clients will value her experience in licencing and regulatory matters as well as other aspects of Commercial Litigation.”
Jacqui’s appointment follows shortly after the Government announced plans to simplify and reduce the costs of the licensing process for outdoor seating and stalls, so that people can drink and dine outside safely during the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak.
