Hit Music station Radio Essex is celebrating continued success both on air and online, as it reaches out to more listeners and advertisers as the only truly local commercial station for Essex.
The station, which is part of The Stockvale Group and is based on Southend Seafront, is available on FM in Southend and Chelmsford, as well as DAB throughout Essex and online via website, mobile app and smart speakers.
In the latest “RAJAR” listening figures, showing results for second quarter of 2019, Radio Essex posted an on-air listenership of 97,000 per week – up 39,000 year on year!
There was also a huge jump in the number of hours listened to, up 117,000 from this time last year to 469,000. The Breakfast Club, Workdays and Drivetime all saw significant gains too.
The station is also continuing to make great strides digitally; online listener hours now average over 40,000 per week for the first time, and the average online listener will tune in for more than one hour and twenty minutes at a time. Almost 130,000 social accounts across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram follow their pages, with regular opportunities to feature Essex businesses through features, interviews and competitions.
