Gepp Solicitors who are based in Chelmsford and Colchester have been awarded a Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Award this year for their support to veterans. Providing legal support for members of the Armed Forces and their families has been one of the core elements of the business for several decades; the firm was a founding member of the Forces Law network of civilian lawyers who specialise in advising serving and former members of the armed forces, their families and dependents. The firm has strong team who have experience in supporting the military community with Senior Partner Roger Brice heading up the Military Law team and Alexandra Dean defending personnel in employment cases.
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant. It focuses on how employers support veterans, reservists and the wider Armed Forces community in the workplace.
Everybody at Gepp Solicitors is absolutely thrilled with the news because it means that our desire to invest in the Armed Forces community has been recognised. As an employer we have seen the value that ex-military personnel bring to a business; employing veterans allows us to give something back to those who have served but also adds value to our firm.
We are very pleased!
