On Saturday 8th September Essex police students held an awareness display and charity collection at High Chelmer on behalf of the charity Rethink which proved very popular. The students completed a static bike ride and managed to collect £506.15. PC Joe Wilkinson, said; ‘we were amazed at people’s generosity,’ when asked why they chose to raise awareness for Rethink, he said, ‘mental illness touches people from all walks of life and it is such a great charity that we felt it was an obvious choice.’
The charity is known not only for giving information and advice, but also for its mental health services and support groups throughout England. They are also known for the amount of campaigning that they do to change policy and to generally make a real difference
