The Colchester Business Enterprise Agency (Colbea) has been recognised by the National Enterprise Network (NEN) in its 2015 awards for the impact it has made on the local community over the past year.
In a year featuring the launch of an Essex-wide business competition and a new East Essex business support service, the Colchester organisation was highly commended by the judging panel, made up of NEN Chairman Chris Pichon and Amanda Hurford, Assistant Director, Enterprise Directorate at the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills. Just missing out on the UK’s Enterprise Support Organisation of the Year Award, Colbea instead was awarded with the only ‘Highly Commended’ organisation in the ‘turnover under £750k’ category.
National Enterprise Network announced the winners of its annual awards, at the NatWest sponsored National Enterprise Network Annual Conference. The winners were announced by Chairman Chris Pichon and facilitator Declan Curry at the event held at the RBS, London. Awards were presented to Network members to recognise excellence in the delivery of enterprise support and encourage the exchange of good practice.
Having been awarded a framed certificate to recognise Colbea’s contribution to local enterprise, Chief Executive Bob Baggalley said, “I’m very happy to receive this award from the National Enterprise Network, which is a body that consists of almost 80 enterprise support organisations across the UK working out of hundreds of locations. It recognises the hard work and dedication that the Colbea team have put into building our Colbea services offer pan-Essex wide. It also recognises the innovative and original thinking behind the new training and support services we now offer to our client base.”
